Share of employees in non-permanent employment in Japan 2003-2023, by age

In 2023, approximately 77 percent of employees aged 65 years and older in Japan were working in non-regular employment. By comparison, only 22.5 percent of employees aged between 25 and 34 were in non-regular jobs. Overall, around 21 million employees were in non-regular employment.
