This dataset, released June 2020, contains data related to hospital admissions for females during 2017-2018 by a principal diagnosis of injury or poisoning, by an external cause. The causes include transport crash injury, accidental poisoning, falls, injury due to exposure to inanimate or animate mechanical forces, intentional self-harm, assault and some other diagnosis of injury or poisoning(by external cause). This includes data for both Public hospitals and All hospitals. The data is by Primary Health Network (PHN) 2017 geographic boundaries based on the 2016 Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS).\n\nThere are 31 PHNs set up by the Australian Government. Each network is controlled by a board of medical professionals and advised by a clinical council and community advisory committee.
