SEACO project Ocean Connectedness Psychometic Survey

The Emotional Connectedness to the Ocean scale (ECO) was developed to measure ocean connectedness, defined as "an emotional bond a human can form with the coastal and marine environment", following the suggested best practice processes outlined by Boateng et al. (2018). This file contains the cleaned dataset from a national (UK) psychometric survey (n = 688) that was used to develop and validate a measure of Ocean Connectedness as part of the SEACO (Social-Environment Attitudes and Connections to the Ocean) funded by the Plymouth Marine Laboratory's Advanced Research Fund.
