The EN4 (ensembles) dataset comprises two categories of data products: subsurface ocean temperature and salinity profile observations with their associated quality information, and objective analyses of these profile datasets. The latest publicly available version of this dataset is EN3_V2a. The majority of its data originates from WOD05 (the World Ocean Database 2005, Boyer et al., 2006), while other data sources include GTSPP (the Global Temperature and Salinity Profile Project, whose collected profile data supplemented WOD05 starting from 1990), ARGO, and the ASBO Project (Arctic Synoptic Basin-wide Oceanography Project, which supplies Arctic ocean data).
