Sampling Operations Database Application (SODA) used on NOAA Ship OKEANOS EXPLORER from 2015-08-02 to 2025-04-30 (NCEI Accession 0311845)

The information collected in the Okeanos Explorer (EX) Sampling Operations Database Application (SODA) was customized for the sampling operation protocols developed prior to the launch of the Campaign to Address Pacific Monument Science, Technology, and Ocean NEeds (CAPSTONE) expedition in FY15. SODA is an NCEI-developed, Microsoft Access-based, sampling tool created specifically for the EX to accompany new samples being collected. SODA is used to input and manage data about samples collected during each dive with the ROV Deep Discoverer. Capabilities also include linking images and videos to samples, generating reports, keeping track of sub-samples and associate specimens, printing museum quality labels, and much more. In this archive package, the following information is included: programming guide, user manual, other related documents, Microsoft Application executables, export files, png files of forms, the relationship diagram, source code for forms, reports, and public modules, as well as, exported contents of all the tables in Excel format and text format.
