Students of Paso Robles High School have been collecting and analyzing veg data on SCI for several years. The purpose of the study is to monitor the long-term status of the major plant communities on the island including chaparral, pine forest, coastal sage scrub, grassland, and ruderal communities. A separate study is monitoring the status of Stipa pulchra in response to the removal of feral pigs.
