DEVELOPING PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE IN ENGLISH THROUGH TASK-BASED LANGUAGE TEACHING (TBLT)
收藏资源简介:
This study examines the effectiveness of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) in developing professional communicative competence in English. In the context of globalization, learners are increasingly required to use English in professional and workplace settings, where communicative competence plays a crucial role. The research aims to investigate how task-based instruction enhances learners’ ability to perform real-life professional communication tasks. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative data from pre- and post-tests with qualitative insights from classroom observations and learner feedback. The findings reveal that TBLT significantly improves learners’ fluency, accuracy, and interaction skills, particularly in job-related communication scenarios such as presentations, negotiations, and professional correspondence. Statistical results indicate measurable progress in performance, while qualitative data highlight increased learner confidence and engagement. The study underscores the pedagogical value of TBLT in English language teaching and provides practical recommendations for integrating authentic tasks into the curriculum. It also suggests future research directions in workplace-oriented language education.
