Genome polarisation insights into hybridisation and admixture of canids

This study investigates genetic diversity and gene flow among several canid taxa, including grey wolves (Canis lupus), coyotes (Canis latrans), red wolves (Canis rufus), golden jackals (Canis aureus), and domesticated dogs (Canis lupus familiaris). Using genome-wide SNP data from various publicly available datasets, we explore patterns of introgression and hybridization across these species. The dataset includes a new sample submitted here as part of a broader study on the evolutionary effects of domestication and hybridization, particularly the preservation of ancient wolf genetic diversity in isolated populations and modern hybrid dog breeds.
