This graph shows the number of licensed taxis in England and Wales, with separate figures for London, between 1999 and 2019. The number of taxis increased both inside and outside of London up till 2017. Since 2018, the number of licensed taxis has been declining. In 2019, number of licensed taxis in London equaled 20.1 percent, whereas the total for the rest of England and Wales was 55.4 percent.
