Evolutionary Genomics of Crenicichla

This project aims at investigating the genetic basis of traits that influences speciation in a model system for replicated speciation. Through the use of advanced sequencing methods and forward genetic approaches (e.g linkage and association mapping), causal genetic variants and associated regions are identified in recent species assemblages to test hypotheses of the genetic basis of adaptation, speciation and convergent evolution.
