Chromosome-level genome assembly of starry flounder (Platichthys stellatus)

Starry flounder (Platichthys stellatus) is widely distributed in the coastlines of the North Pacific. As a euryhaline flatfish, it can adapt to a wide range of environmental salinity ranging from freshwater to seawater. Here, we obtained a high-quality chromosome-scale starry flounder genome assembly using a combination of short-reads sequencing, PacBio HiFi sequencing, and Hi-C sequencing technologies. The final genome assembly was 643.56 Mb with contig N50 and scaffold N50 length of 10.00 Mb and 26.19 Mb, respectively.
