Restoring World Heritage Gondwana Rainforests within Githabul Country - Stage 1

Githabul Aboriginal community members will work on country in World Heritage Gondwana Rainforests at Tooloom and Toonumbar National Parks. The Indigenous Green Army Team will work with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and Githabul Rangers to systematically control invasive weeds in rainforest and wet schlerophyll forest, improving the health and connectivity of critically endangered ecosystems and enhancing the habitat of threatened species. Fauna surveying, including turtle monitoring, will be undertaken. A field day will showcase restoration techniques, share Githabul cultural knowledge and raise awareness of the site values. Participants will gain skills and experience in restoring internationally important Gondwana rainforest using contemporary and traditional methods.
