Soil metagenome samples of biofumigation experiment at Forthside Vegetable Research Farm, Tasmania

This study aimed to examine the effects of brassica biofumigation and ryegrass green manuring on the microbial ecology of an intensively cropped vegetable production soil damaged by compaction and erosion. Soils were sampled after a carrot harvest during very wet conditions which resulted in significant soil damage. The site had been continuously utilizing the biofumigant and green manure for twelve years and this should be considered when interpreting data from the beginning and end of the experiment
