Fruit fly (Tephritidae) host range in Mayotte from 2012 to 2104 and from 2019 to 2021

The Oriental fruit fly (Bactrocera dorsalis), one of the world's most invasive and polyphagous pests of fruits, was detected in Mayotte in 2007. In order to identify its impact on the island, its host range and interactions with other resident species were assessed during two field campaigns from 2012 to 2014 and from 2019 to 2021. We collected fruits all across the island, in cultivated and non-cultivated areas and compared the infestation rates between the two periods. Data consists of the number of emerging individuals of each fruit fly species according to host plant and date.
