Establishment of a new intestinal cell line from the grouper (Cephalopholis sonnerati) and transcriptome response to Vibrio harveyi infection

The tomato grouper (Cephalopholis sonnerati) is a high-value marine aquaculture species. However, diseases caused by Vibrio infections, particularly Vibrio harveyi, severely constrain the continuous and stable development of the tomato grouper aquaculture industry. To investigate the immune mechanisms underlying V. harveyi infection, a novel cell line, designated TGGI, was established and characterized from intestinal tissue of tomato grouper, and transcriptomic analysis of TGGI cells incubated with V. harveyi for varying durations, providing a valuable in vitro model for investigating fish intestinal immunity.
