Rapid assessment of invasion front and ecological impact of the invasive fish Coreoperca herzi using quantitative eDNA metabarcoding

This study aimed to clarify the current invasive distribution and magnitude of C. herzi and its impacts on native fish species using qMiSeq. We conducted a fish eDNA survey in wide-area and multi-sites of the upstream segment of the Oyodo River system, including the Hagiwara River. Specifically, we examined the following two points: (1) the distribution of eDNA concentrations of C. herzi in the study area and (2) the differences in fish community composition between sites with and without C. herzi.
