1971 Census of Population [Canada] Public Use Microdata File (PUMF): Household File (Province Level)

The Household File contains housing data as well as some basic demographic information on the occupants of the household. A record, when dealing with the Household File, refers to data on the household unit. A household is a person or groups of persons ocuupying one dwelling. It usually consists of a family group, with or without lodgers, employees, etc. However, it may consist of two or more families sharing a dwelling, or a group of unrelated persons or of one person living alone.
