Microbes in Tianxiu hydrothermal sediments

We reconstructed 661 metagenome-assembled genomes ( MAGs) with >70% completeness and <10% contamination from 18 metagenomes of Tianxiu hydrothermal sediments (totalling ~2.10 Tbp of sequencing data). Among these SRGs, 36.7% exhibited completeness exceeding 90% and contamination below 5%. Taxonomic analysis assigned the 661 SRGs to 55 bacterial and 12 archaeal phyla. Notably, 97.43% of these genomes lack species-level representation in the GTDB database, indicating the presence of numerous novel microbial lineages previously unreported in the Tianxiu hydrothermal field.
