NOAA-NIHHIS Heat User Engagement Workshop

The two-day NOAA-NIHHIS Heat User Engagement Workshop was co-created and hosted by National Integrated Heat Health Information System (NIHHIS) lead agencies, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), with discussion leaders from NOAA, CDC, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). NIHHIS is an interagency program housed in the NOAA Climate Program Office in the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research. The workshop had two primary purposes: Demonstrate capabilities: Provide overviews of existing federal heat tools to inform decision-makers on how they can help reduce risk of heat-related impacts. Explore user needs: Understand how these tools are being used now, how they could be used in the future, and what features are needed to improve usability.
