This dataset is derived from a full-scale lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery module fire experiment conducted in July 2023 on the full-scale battery system fire simulation experimental platform in Lu'an City, Anhui Province, and holds significant research value. It provides abundant data support for battery safety research and fire characteristic analysis, and is of great significance for new energy battery safety design, fire early warning system development and related scientific research. The data was obtained from an overcharge-induced thermal runaway experiment simulating a 280 Ah LFP battery module. The experimental module consists of eight 280 Ah batteries connected in series, and thermal runaway was triggered by constant-current overcharge (current: 100 A, cutoff voltage: 90 V). Data including temperature, voltage, heat release rate (HRR), gas composition and experimental phenomena during the thermal runaway and combustion process of the module were recorded. During data collection, equipment such as thermocouples, heat release rate measurement systems, multi-component gas online monitoring systems and digital cameras were used, and experimental conditions were strictly controlled to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data. In the experiment, the battery module was charged to 100% State of Charge (SOC), the gas released from the safety valve was ignited by a remote igniter, and combustion data was recorded. The main collected contents include temperature variation curves, voltage changes, heat release rate, gas production composition data during the thermal runaway and combustion stages, as well as high-definition images and videos of the experimental process. This dataset contains complete experimental observation results, with a large total volume of data covering multiple dimensions and time series, featuring high resolution and timeliness. It provides a valuable resource for further research on new energy battery fire characteristics, accident simulation and prevention.
