This project provides PacBio HiFi long-read sequencing data of the enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7 strain EDL933 with a targeted deletion of the stx2 gene. The stx2 deletion mutant was generated using CRISPR-Cas9 allelic exchange and validated by PCR. These data serve as a resource to study the role of Shiga toxin 2 in EHEC pathogenicity and red blood cell interactions.
