Huai Kha Khaeng ForestGEO Project Camera Trap Data

This metadata publication presents a comprehensive camera trap dataset collected by the HKK ForestGEO project in the Huai Kha Khaeng (HKK) Forest Dynamics Plot, spanning from March 02, 2017, to the present. The HKK Forest Dynamics plot was initiated in 1992 by the Thai Royal Forest Department in collaboration with ForestGEO and Harvard University; it is located in the Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, Thailand. Currently the project hosts 14 cameras that have been used in 45 deployments, resulting in 43,265 total images (12,348 identified images). The dataset encompasses 30 identified species, with the most frequently recorded being the Sambar (Rusa unicolor) with 4,544 images, Barbara Brown's Brush-tailed Rat (Isothrix barbarabrownae) with 3,432 images, Wild Boar (Sus scrofa) with 2,521 images, Siberut Macaque (Macaca siberu) with 162 images, and other species collectively accounting for 1,401 images.Paired cameras and bait were not used in this project.
