Multiple sequence alignments and Phylogenetic tree inference files for: Tandem gene clusters as phylogenetic anchors reveal the hidden history of vertebrate visual opsins.

The following dataset contains multiple sequence alignments as well as phylogenetic tree inference files used for the analysis and figures presented in the manuscript.In short, opsin and GNAT sequences were aligned using ClustalO (using standard settings unless otherwise stated in the manuscript) and phylogenetic trees were inferred with IQ-TREE. See phylogenetic inference files for used settings for each analysis.The concatenated alignment was generated from separate neighbouring gene family alignments (aligned using ClustalO) through MEGA11. The phylogenetic tree was then inferred with IQ-TREE.
