Number of battery electric cars in use in Japan 2015-2024

As of March 31, 2024, the number of battery electric passenger vehicles in use reached approximately 196.48 thousand, increasing from around 162.39 thousand in the previous year. Other kinds of battery electric motor vehicles (BEV) added up to only a few thousand.
