资源简介:
The soldiers had been invited to the home of R.H. Nield a local businessman; he was a piano merchant in Stockport. Five of the ladies/girls in the photo are his daughters. They are photographed in the garden. Phyllis Nield married, in 1925, Jack Morten who wrote letters from the War which were published as "I remain Your Son, Jack". This book is now out of print. Editor's Comment: Note the Scout badge (a Fleur-de-Lys with bar below) on the lower right sleeve of the man seated on the left of the first photograph. Pte. 2393 John Clarke Morten, 1/7th Bn. Manchester Regiment, was commissioned Second Lieutenant and later attached to the Royal Air Force.
