Two highly colistin-resistant cystic fibrosis clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (TRPA161 and TRPA162) were used to identify colistin adjuvants and evaluate adjuvant activity in synthetic sputum co-cultures with Staphylococcus aureus. Whole genome sequencing was conducted to more accurately compare susceptibility of these isolates to previously published colistin-resistant strains, with particular focus on systems involved in colistin-resistance.
