资源简介:
Eulophidae is a large family of insects within the order Hymenoptera (bees, wasps, ants and sawflies). There are an estimated 300 genera with approximately 4,300 species described to date. Eulophids are primarily parasitoids on a variety of arthropods, but some species' larvae do feed on plant tissue. This family is rare in that is it is one of only two known families that parasitize Thysanoptera (thrips). Their distribution spans world-wide, and they can be found in nearly every habitat (one is even aquatic parasitizing water-penny beetle larvae). These small, delicate eulophid specimens are known to deteriorate in condition quickly after death, and are therefore extremely hard to study and preserve. Please help transcribe the UHIM's Eulophid collection in order to better help us understand their distribution and impact in Hawai'i.This expedition of 524 tasks is fully transcribed and validated. This data resource is harvested periodically into the main occurrence index.
