Dataset from Rolosense: An Innovative Platform for Automatic Mobile Phone Readout of Active SARS-CoV-2

Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate sensor responses for detecting SARS-CoV-2 virus samples. The study focused on measuring the sensitivity and specificity of the sensor and examining how matrix and buffer conditions influenced assay response. Materials/Methods: This device validation study tested sensor responses to varying concentrations of pseudovirus and inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus samples. The study collected data using a smartphone-based platform to record assay performance. Measurements assessed the impact of different matrix and buffer conditions on the assay response. Data types included imaging and microscopy. Outcome/Impact: The study measured the sensitivity and specificity of the sensor system and evaluated how assay performance was affected by matrix and buffer variations. Results provided validation data supporting the development of a smartphone-based viral detection system and contributed to the broader field of digital health applications for viral testing.
