资源简介:
This dataset provides common-space measures of ideology for federal judges, updated through 2024. The methodology is detailed in Bonica and Sen (2017), "A Common-Space Scaling of the American Judiciary and Legal Profession." The dataset was constructed using data from the Federal Judicial Center's Biographical Directory of Federal Judges (FJC), available at http://www.fjc.gov/history/home.nsf/page/judges.html, and the Database on Ideology, Money in Politics, and Elections (DIME), available at http://data.stanford.edu/dime. See the primary publication for methodological details: Bonica, Adam, and Maya Sen. 2017. "A Common-Space Scaling of the American Judiciary and Legal Profession." Political Analysis 25(1): 114–21. (Link to Article or provide DOI if available) The dataset includes judge-level information, commission details (for up to three appointments), imputed and observed ideology scores (CFscores), and linked itemized contribution data for donating judges.
