This article explores the philosophical aspects of reproductive asymmetry, manifested in the colossal difference between the number of male (spermatozoa) and female (ova) gametes. By analyzing this phenomenon, the author raises questions about its biological expediency, the role of natural selection at the cellular level, and the philosophical implications of concepts such as "choice," free will, and predetermination in the context of the origin of life. Special attention is given to the metaphor of the spermatozoon as a "tadpole" and the universality of this mechanism in nature, leading to reflections on symbiosis, self-sacrifice, and the fundamental categories of life and death.
