Digital Archive from Historic Building Recording Work at 15-17 Almshouse Lane, Newmillerdam, Wakefield, July 2025

This collection comprises image and text data from Visual Buildings Record (level 1) work at 15-17 Almshouse Lane, Newmillerdam, Wakefield, WF2 7ST. The work was undertaken by Aurora Heritage Planning Ltd in July 2025. This project has contributed to the current understanding and knowledge of the existing structures through fabric analysis at the location of the specified areas to be recorded. This project has mitigated against the loss and alteration of historic fabric through the production of a formal photographic historic building recording. This project provides a permanent archive of the existing buildings and ensures its availability within the public domain. The buildings reflect modest vernacular construction typical of late 19th-century ancillary structures but have undergone significant and unsympathetic alterations over time. The buildings do not display any decorative or design-led embellishment and were clearly functional in nature, most likely serving as storage, stabling, or utility outbuildings.
