A woman (from Bethlehem) interviewed by Arleen Hanania on 20 November 1998. <br>She discusses the following: locust plague; spread of typhoid and use of folk medicine; in Beit Sahour there was a doctor from Greece who used to treat people; when the British took control of Palestine they gave them biscuits to eat and were welcomed by the people; social relations between local people; 'seferberlik' (Ottoman military conscription). <br>Original audio recording: cassette tape.
