PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing pulp fiber for culture medium which has low hemicellulose content and is preferable as a cellulose raw material. SOLUTION: A method for producing pulp fiber for culture medium from pulp fiber included in used sanitary products includes: a forming step of pulp fiber for culture medium in which by supplying ozone-containing gas into a treatment tank including treatment liquid including pulp fiber-containing material， which includes pulp fiber derived from used sanitary products， the pulp fiber for culture medium having less than 8.0 mass% of hemicellulose content is formed from the pulp fiber.
