18S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing from Monegros hypersaline lakes (water and sediment)

This project investigates the microbial diversity and environmental characteristics of hypersaline lakes in the Monegros region (NE Spain). A total of five lakes were sampled, collecting both water column and sediment material to capture microbial communities across different habitats. The study aims to characterize eukaryotic assemblages inhabiting these extreme environments, where high salinity and fluctuating physicochemical conditions shape microbial ecology.
