Affymetrix SNP array data for mice with or without the whorled phenotype

The goal of this study was to narrow down a region of interest that contains the causative mutation that results in the whorled fur phenotype of the rosette fancy mouse. DNA was extracted from ear punches or tail clips using the Qiagen DNeasy Blood and Tissue kit. We sent high molecular weight DNA to FisherScientific for genotyping array service using the Affymetrix Mouse Diversity Array. The data set includes the original whorled founder male and a sibling along with ancestors from outcrossing to the C57BL/6 background. The whorled phenotype was treated as a binary trait and 91 mice were categorized as whorled (1) or non-whorled (0)
