Genome evolution of springtails.

We sequenced a reference individual and 12 reseq samples of globular springtail Allacma fusca and one male Orchesella cincta. We also sequenced five male and four female RNA-seq pools of both species. For A. fusca we used pools of three individuals and for O. cincta we used 5-9 individuals dependent on their body size. The study in general aims to study the evolution of two X chromosomes found in A. fusca compared to more common X0 system found in O. cincta.
