This research compares different solid-phase microextraction (SPME) formats for analyzing volatile compounds, with a focus on thin-film SPME (TF-SPME). The study evaluates various TF-SPME devices and their efficiency in extracting food odorants from standard mixtures and real samples like beer. Results show that HLB-TF-SPME is the most effective, offering better sensitivity and a wider analyte range than traditional SPME fibers and stir bars. The study highlights TF-SPME’s potential for advanced food analysis, particularly when combined with GCxGC-ToFMS for detecting complex volatile profiles.Data contains a ReadMe.txt file.
