Waters Detailed structure mapping Lower Saxony and Bremen

Under water structure is understood the morphological expression of a body of water with its floodplain, its banks and its bed. In addition to the quality of the water, the water structure is an essential basis for settlement with a water-typical flora and fauna. In total, 866 rivers with a length of 10,209 km in 779 water bodies were mapped and evaluated in Lower Saxony and Bremen between 2010 and 2014 according to the procedure of detailed structure mapping in Lower Saxony (DSK) (NLÖ 2001), which was modified and adapted to current requirements.
