Data is created by in cooperation with Planning and Zoning Department to support zoning regulations passed on 14 December 2024 to limit tobacco, nicotine and hemp sales near children's facilities. The zone is generated from creating a 1000' buffer from Schools ( public and private), Child Day Centers and Pre-Schools (as provided by Virginia Department of Social Services). The data layer has information about type of facility and date of last update. More information can be found https://www.alexandriava.gov/Planning. Data is updated yearly in July and was last significantly updated June 2026.</span></p></div></div></div>
