Study on the source of infection in infected pancreatic necrosis based on gut microbiota dysbiosis

The mortality rate of acute pancreatitis (AP) patients is as high as 30% when infectious complications occur in the late course of the disease. Gut derived infection is considered to be the main cause of infectious complications in AP patients. The aim of this study was to analyze the homology between the gut microbiota and microbiota of pancreatic necrotic drainage fluid, blood and deep sputum from AP patients undergoing the first minimally invasive intervention for pancreatic necrosis, to further validate the theory of gut derived infection in AP patients.
