Competence in the Primary School, autumn 1999

This data set is drawn from the survey "Competence in the Primary School" which was carried out in two parts, spring and autumn 1999. The survey was carried out as an assignment from the Ministry of Church, Education and Research in cooperation with the Public Teachers Course. The background for the survey was the implementation of the new curriculum for the 10-year primary school, L97 and L97 Sami.

The purpose of the survey is to map out the competence of the teachers, and their education in English, home economics, christianity and religion orientation, physical education, art and craft, music, Norwegian and social science. The target group for the survey are teachers who teach in the subjects mentioned above, in the school year of 1998-99. The mapping out of the teachers' competences will be included in the departement's basis for further work on the recruitment of teachers, the adaptation of relevant further education and adult education tied to the "læreplanverkene".

The interviews were carried out in two rounds, spring and autumn 1999. This file contains data for autumn 1999.
