This repository contains the datasets and codes for the research titled "Water-constrained revegetation potential in China’s drylands using a multi-data ensemble approach". The study focuses on assessing revegetation and conversion potentials. The repository includes the following Python scripts for data processing and analysis:<b> </b><b>calculate_human_water_data.py</b>: Processeshuman water use data<b>; </b><b>calculate_AWR.py</b>: Calculates available water resources (AWR) from multiple data sources<b>; </b><b>calculate_WUE.py</b>: computes water use efficiency (WUE) for different vegetation types<b>; </b><b>calculate_revegetation_potential.py</b>: Estimates revegetation potential based on water availability constraints<b>; </b><b>calculate_conversion_potential.py</b>: Computes vegetation conversion potential between different land cover types, visualization scripts (<b>figure2.py</b>, <b>figure3.py</b>, <b>figure4.py</b>, <b>figure5.py</b>) for all manuscript figures. The<b><i> p</i></b><b><i>rocessed_data.zip </i></b>provides processed data, including: ensemble precipitation data from multiple sources, ensemble evapotranspiration (ET) data products, processed human water use data, revegetation potential assessments, vegetation conversion potential calculations, etc.
