This study was aimed to investigate epigenetic changes at single base resolution in two Capsicum species (C. chinense and C. frutescens) and their F1 hybrid plant using whole genome bisulfite sequencing. Also, impact of methylation signature on expression of genes was investigated using whole transcriptome sequencing data. Further, this study aims to identify epigenetic site changes in hybrid and its parents to develop epigenetic markers with their potential in Capsicum breeding programme.
