THE ROLE OF GLP-1 RECEPTOR AGONISTS IN THE COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH STABLE ANGINA AND OBESITY

Cardiovascular diseases remain one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Stable angina pectoris combined with obesity significantly worsens the clinical course of coronary artery disease due to metabolic disorders, endothelial dysfunction, and chronic inflammation. In recent years, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists have attracted considerable attention because of their cardiometabolic effects in addition to glucose-lowering properties. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of GLP-1 receptor agonists as part of comprehensive therapy in patients with stable angina and obesity. The study includes patients with stable exertional angina and obesity who receive standard antianginal therapy with or without GLP-1 receptor agonists. Clinical symptoms, body mass index, lipid profile, blood glucose levels, exercise tolerance, and quality of life indicators are assessed during treatment. The expected results include reduction in angina attacks, improvement in exercise tolerance, weight loss, and positive changes in metabolic parameters. The use of GLP-1 receptor agonists may improve cardiovascular outcomes and enhance the effectiveness of conventional therapy in obese patients with stable angina.
