Churchill Beluga Monitoring Project

Pilot project from the University of Manitoba Centre for Earth Observation Science with the goal of understanding beluga movement in the Churchill River estuary and beluga response to environmental and anthropogenic factors. To monitor belugas three techniques were implimented, passive acousitc monitoring, a time-lapse camera system and video recordings from a unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

本项目为马尼托巴大学地球观测科学中心（University of Manitoba Centre for Earth Observation Science）开展的试点研究，旨在探究丘吉尔河河口的白鲸（beluga）活动规律，以及白鲸对环境与人为活动因素的响应。为监测白鲸，研究采用了三项技术手段：被动声学监测（passive acoustic monitoring）、延时摄影系统，以及无人驾驶飞行器（UAV）的视频录制。
