Created by IEEE, the Energy Activity Dataset (EAD) is a specialized dataset developed for smart home energy research. It boasts high diversity in data types: each data point is annotated with device type, brand and event information, while complex data points additionally include application tags. EAD aims to analyze energy consumption patterns through detailed annotations, supporting the deployment of deep learning in energy-related projects such as energy usage profile construction, device identification and home automation. Furthermore, EAD offers an improved Longest Common Subsequence (LCS) similarity measurement algorithm for dataset quality assessment, and collects data via non-intrusive Optical Character Recognition (OCR) methods to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the dataset.
