资源简介:
From the 1930s, the Department of Education offered studentships, paying individuals to attend teacher training college. At the completion of their course they were obliged to take employment as a teacher with the Department for a one to three-year period. This series of cards was maintained by the School Personnel branch from 1960 until 1985 in order to have a record of all studentships offered in Victoria where the employee did not take up duty as a teacher. Information concerning studentships taken before the 1960s is held in VPRS 13579 Teacher Record Books. The cards in this series are a basic summary of the information that would appear on the student's personnel file, and have been kept as a concise and speedy form of reference. If the student completed their course of training this card was retained throughout their teaching career until 1989 when personnel files were replaced by the Teacher Management System (TMS) database. This information was then updated electronically by payroll changes. In 1998 this information was transferred to the Human Resources Management System (HRMS).Information appearing on the cards includes the name, date of birth, and place of birth of the student, the particular course undertaken and the institution, date studentship relinquished, and the student's personnel file number. As this series of cards concerns students who did not end up in the employ of the Department, there is no annual Inspector's report as appears on the other, related series of cards. The record number appearing on the cards is Department-wide and matches with the student's personnel file. These personnel files have since been destroyed. This studentship program was terminated in 1985.
