"This article examines the vacuum tube technologies that supported Umberto Nobile\u2019s expedition during its flight aboard the airship Italia to the North Pole. It focuses on the stages of the airship\u2019s flight, from its organization to the moment of the disaster. The operation of the vacuum tube equipment used during the flight and at critical moments during the expedition\u2019s life is examined and analyzed. The establishment of radio contact between Soviet radio amateur Nikolai Schmidt and the victims is cov-ered in detail.
