ITS2 Symbiodinium communities within Acropora hyacinthus, sampled across the Great Barrier Reef Metagenome

In order to understand the distribution and underlying drivers of heat tolerance within Coral species, we characterized bleaching and photosynthetic traits in 569 colonies of Acropora hyacinthus collected across 17 reefs across the Great Barrier Reef. Here we present the ITS2 Symbiodiniaceae community profiles from these samples. Heat stress assays were applied to these colonies in order to explore variations associated with thermal stress responses. Symbiodiniaceae communities were quantified using the ITS2 rDNA marker described in Hume et al 2018, 2019.
