The goal of this study is to compare current micro-eukaryotic communities (ca. 2000) with communities from the end of the 19th century (ca. 1880) in 48 French lakes. High-throughput sequencing of 18S rDNA is used to reconstruct past micro-eukaryotic communities from ancient DNA stored in lake sediments.
